COPPERCOAT application preparation
Coppercoat Sanding Sample
Coppercoat will run and sag if applied too thick
This short skirt is good for dew, but won't keep blowing rain off of the hull.
The whole vessel skirted for dew
Note the cardboard "noses" taped under the skirt to keep it off the Coppercoat.
Note how they suspended the skirt over the stands and poles, keeping it away from the hull, so it didn't stick to the wet Coppercoat and allowing them to paint underneath it.
Rain and fog were expected, so Scarano Boatyard taped the skirt above the 115' waterline and then rolled it up and out of the way while they were painting. Note the 2x4s on the ground, ready to be put in place at the end of the day, or quickly if it started to rain. (And yes, it did.)

This boat is skirted in expectation of rain
Rain will wash newly applied Coppercoat off. The back of the keel and the foot were completely coated before the rain.

Grills and covers are removed for brush application
